Biography

I am a Professor at the School of Computer Science & Engineering (SoCSE), (KUDSIT), formerly IIITM-K, Thiruvananthapuram, India. I am currently on approved sabbatical leave (January–December 2026) under the University’s Entrepreneurship Policy, to focus on translational research and technology commercialization initiatives. My research interests span computer security and intelligent systems, with particular emphasis on IoT and cyber-physical systems, UAV and drone security, post-quantum cryptography, FinTech security, AgriTech, and cognitive surveillance systems. I coordinate the Connected Systems and Intelligence (CSI) Lab at KUDSIT, where we lead multiple funded research projects addressing national and societal challenges in secure and intelligent systems. I have successfully supervised nine Ph.D. scholars and currently mentor six doctoral researchers.

I received my Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka. My scholarly contributions include authoring and editing books, book chapters, journal articles, and conference papers. I have edited over 45 conference proceedings published by Springer, and additional proceedings with IEEE, ACM, and Elsevier. I regularly serve as Guest Editor for journal special issues and as a program committee member for international conferences and workshops, and have co-chaired multiple technical sessions, conferences, and symposia.

In editorial capacities, I serve as Editor for Elsevier’s Journal of Network and Computer Applications (JNCA) and Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, and for the International Journal of Embedded Systems (Inderscience, UK). I am an Associate Editor for Connection Science (Taylor & Francis) and IEEE Access, and a reviewer for several leading international journals. I also serve on the Editorial Board of the Springer book series in Applied Machine Learning.

I am a Senior Member of IEEE and ACM, and the Founding Chair of the ACM Trivandrum Professional Chapter. I am also the Founder and Director of , a DeepTech startup developing AI-driven and post-quantum-secure platforms for smart surveillance, cyber-physical security, FinTech fraud intelligence, and digital trust infrastructures. My work focuses on translating advanced academic research into deployable, policy-aligned industry solutions.
